Cleaning & Polishing

Performs component cleaning and polishing services to ensure the appropriate final finish is achieved. Meets the requirements of the various industrial sectors.
cleaning
This process removes oil, grease, dirt, loose particles and any other contaminants that may exist on the surface of the material and prepares it for further operations such as electroplating or painting.

What is Cleaning & Polishing used for?

All machined parts will be processed cleaning and tribofinishing before assembly or pack for delivery. The purpose of cleaning parts is to remove all kinds of dirt, such as iron filings, abrasives, oil that remaining on the component surface. The cleanliness of parts after cleaning will directly affect the assembly quality and the service life of engineering machinery and products. Here are some advantages of the cleaning process:
  • Increasing surface roughness: the surface of metal parts may contain rougher dirt or grit etc. If not cleaned, this dirt can add to the wear of the cutting tool during the subsequent production process, producing a rougher surface.
  • Avoiding corrosion: The surface of metal parts may contain corrosive substances such as acidic or alkaline chemical substances which, if not removed, may cause corrosion to the metal parts.
  • Remove grease: Lubricating oils or coolants may be used in the metalworking process and these may remain on the surface of metal parts and, if not cleaned, can cause problems with subsequent surface preparation or painting.
  • Improving accuracy: Cleaning metal parts removes dirt and grit from the surface, thereby improving the accuracy and quality of the product.

What metals can be cleaning or polish?

All types of metal such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, brass and other alloys can be degreased the surface.

Practical uses of Cleaning & Polishing

Overview

As specialists in machined components, we have extensive know-how in the field of tribofinishing and cleaning. This process allows us to clean metal parts to perfection, and reduce burrs present on technical parts after machining. There are 4 main cleaning methods for precision machined parts, Vibration cleaning, Ultrasonic cleaning , Spray wash and Tribofinishing.

Vibration cleaning

The parts to be cleaned are placed on the cleaning basket or cleaning rack of the vibrating washer and immersed in the cleaning liquid. The vibration of the cleaning machine is used to simulate the manual rinsing action and the chemical action of the cleaning liquid to remove oil stains.

Ultrasonic cleaning

Ultrasound technology that uses high frequencies to produce tiny bubbles that implode upon striking the surface of a part to gently remove debris. It is especially useful for removing tightly-adhered contaminants from intricate items with blind holes, cracks and recesses.

Spray wash

To spray a cleaning fluid with a certain pressure and temperature onto the surface of the parts to remove oil stains. This is particularly true of parts with ID threads, blind holes and cross holes. The high-pressure sprays to mechanically force debris from holes and other hiding places.

Tribofinishing

Tribofinishing is a frictional surface treatment. This material-to-material finishing process uses vibrations to polish custom-made machined mechanical parts. We use tribofinishing (sometimes called chemical-mechanical polishing, vibroabrasion, tumbling or vibratory finishing) to modify the surface finish and edges of our metal parts. We immerse them in an abrasive mixture (more commonly known as “media”) set in vibratory, oscillatory or rotary motion in a tank. We mainly use ceramic media to polish and/or deburr metal and plastic components.
